When you arrive at the main site, miaracedo.com, there are articles listed which start from newest and go back to the oldest. If you’d like to read about a specific topic, there are easy ways to find articles that you’re looking for.
Posts
A post is an article that is published to the site. This site is made up of posts (articles) that are all about Mia growing up! As mentioned in the short intro, when you arrive to the site you’ll see posts which are in order by the date they were published (the most recent being at the top).
From the perspective of a writer (me), I might write a post about Mia from when she was just born, and then write another post about Mia when she had her 1st birthday. You could read them in the order that I’ve posted them if you’d like, but you can also read them the articles based on their topics. This leads us into “categories”.
Categories
A category is exactly what it sounds like. All posts are put into different categories. For example, “0 – 1 Year Old” is a category. Any articles published in this category are going to be articles about Mia between the ages of 0 – 1. Another category is “Surgery”. As you can probably guess, all articles published in this category are about Mia’s surgery, and things happening around that time.
You can click on a category if you’d like to see articles that fall under that specific topic. At the time that this is being written, there are only two articles published. One of the articles falls under the category of “Surgery” and another falls under the category of “0 – 1 Year Old”. If you click on the category of “Surgery” you won’t find articles that are published in the category of “0 – 1 Year Old”.
Tags
A tag is sort of like a sub-category. It’s a word or phrase that tells you something that is covered in the article. For example, the article titled “Mia Drinking From a Cup” talks about the fact that we were traveling from Nashville to Florida. So, I included the tag “traveling”. If you click on that tag, you’ll find every article that talks about traveling with Mia.
In the article “Mia After Surgery (Tired Baby!)”, I’ve used the tag “one month” to indicate that the article talks about her when she was about a month old. In the future, I may write other articles (posts) about her being a month old. You can find these articles by clicking on the tag that says “one month”.
The categories cover broad areas. Tags help you find things that are very specific.
